“Sarah Schönfeld squeezed drops of various legal and illegal liquid drug mixtures onto negative film which had already been exposed. Each drop altered the coating of the film. Much like the effect of some of these substances on humans, this can be a lengthy process – sometimes one that can barely be stopped.
“She then enlarged these negatives including the chemical reaction of the particular drug, to sizes of up to 160 x 200 cm. All of the substances behaved very differently: the shapes and colors that appeared showed unique characteristics and revealed unique internal universes. Schönfeld explores the possibilities of photography at the frontiers of what can be visually portrayed– the interface between representation and reality.”

This reminds me of the Bean Bag from Beebas! I like to imagine it ‘snores’ a little when you lay on it. Perfect for convalescing! Via here

In 1986 the poor people of Cleveland Ohio had the brilliant idea of filling 1 million 5 hundred thousand balloons with helium and then releasing them over the city, all in the name of charity. While the filling up of said balloons looks to have been an amazing, exciting experience.. the release didn’t go so swimmingly. Just as the colorful spheres were let go a storm blew into downtown and promptly bitch slapped all those shimmery blobs right back down! Two people were killed and one horse was traumatized so much that it’s owner was rewarded $100000 (yes- ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS). But really, if this were to happen today, imagine the art it would inspire! Helium filled art everywhere. Christo would get in on this for sure.

Dear Kit,
Even though we can’t be by your side during this entire process, we want you know that we’ll be thinking about you every step of the way.
‘No Miles Between .Us” is our little way of sharing all the silly kinds of things that we have shared all our lives. We want to distract you, make you smile, and remind you on a daily basis that we are right here by your side everyday. It’s a little reminder that everything will be normal again when this is all over. And that, even though we can’t be right there with you physically, we will always be with you in spirit.
Go team Chemo 2014!
